These are the usual ways I would add a printer for a user. This is assuming manual adding rather than through an automated method like a Group Policy Object.
This is also assuming it is not connected with a USB wire. If it is, the computer should automatically see it.
Method 1
- Go to printers and scanners in Settings
- Select Add Printer, it will do an initial scan on the network
- If it sees it, select the option to add it and you're done
- If it doesn't select Add Printer Manually
- Select the option that says TCP/IP Device
- Enter in the IP address of the printer (assuming you have this)
Method 2
- Find out what server the printer is hosted on
- Go to the UNC path of the machine in File Explorer
- All folders and printers that are available there will show
- Right click the printer and select Connect
